Leona Lewis Booed at MOBO Awards.

 

Singer Leona Lewis was booed when she failed to turn up at the Mobo Awards lastnight to collect her awards.

Leona won Best Album for her album Spirit and Best Video for Bleeding Love, But there was loud booing after it was revealed she was not present to pick her awards up in person and instead accepted via a satellite link:

“Thank you so much. I’m so sorry I can’t be here with you… I’m there in spirit with you all,” she said.

80’s singer Sinitta accepted the Best Video award on Leona’s behalf but could barely be heard above the loud booing.

 But Mel B who was hosting the night, came to her defense by telling the auience to stop and saying:

 ”Stop giving Leona Lewis a hard time you lot. It’s not her fault she can’t be here.”

It does seem a lil harsh for Leona Lewis, I mean shes harmless! LOL! But what do YOU think??

Danity Kane: D.Woods & Aubrey OUT!

So its Finally happened.After months of rumours and speculation PDiddy’s gone and kicked Aubrey O’day and D.Woods out of his reality show “Making the band” group. In a live season finale of the reality show on MTV diddy did the dirty deed! Many thought it was a publicity stunt but band member Dawn Richards confirmed they are no longer members.

She tells Usmagazine.com,

“Puff (Diddy) did not like (O’Day’s) image… (or) where her image was going for the group.”

Richard, who admits she’s still shocked by the decision to axe her bandmates, suggests O’Day’s decision to pose scantily clad on the cover of urban magazine Complex helped seal her fate:

“We had just did a signing with Dollhouse Teen, which is for 13, 14-year-old young girls. We can’t do that one day and then the next day do an obnoxious cover.

“He (Diddy) wants the fans, and he says he can’t do that if we can continue to go in the direction that we were going.”Puff told me specifically that Aubrey is no longer in Danity Kane and Danity Kane will move forward without her.”

Meanwhile, confirming O’Day’s departure, Diddy says, “I just want to work with the young lady that I signed, not the person that fame has made her,” adding Woods got “caught up in the wrath” of O’Day.

Hmmm…Aubrey I can understand why he felt she had to go, BUT D.Woods too?!?…Other than the fact that she just didnt seem too happy with the direction of the group and not too mention she has her own group thing going on with Girls Club (singing & songwriting trio), I have to say Woods was my favourite member, But Im sure she’ll be around for a while yet…

Simmons Sisters get their Own MTV Reality Show!

I had a feeling this would happen…Vanessa and Angela Simmons from Rev Runs House Reality show have bagged their own Spin off reality show on MTV called “Daddys Girls” (what else!).

Angela and Vanessa Simmons revealed the details:

“The show will follow our lives in L.A. and what’s going on with us,” since making the move to LA from New York.

“It will also showcase us as we evolve our ‘Pastry’ shoe and clothing line into another more grown-up brand, in addition to embarking upon other exciting ventures”

So Vanessa will be doing the acting and Angela, who’s the executive editor of her own magazine, ‘Angela’s Rundown,’ will focus on that.

Seriously, I cant wait to see this show….I love these two girls (and slightly envious of them too lol!) – To me, they really are the black version of  The Olson Twins! Im predicting BIG things for these girls )

MOBO Awards 2008!

So just a few hours ago the stars came out for the MOBO (Music of Black Origin) Awards show here in the UK at Londons Wembley Arena. This year the MOBOS were hosted by our own Mel B and veteran rapper come reality star, Rev Run; With appearances and performances from John Legend, Sugababes and Estelle.

It turnt out to be a good year for our favourites as Estelle picked up two awards for Best Song (American Boy) and Best UK Female and Leona Lewis for Best Album.

Unfortunately though, there seems to already be a few complaints as alot of the winners werent there to pick up their awards – Chris Brown, Leona Lewis etc etc.  But overall it seems to have been a good night!…..Even my fave gurl D.Woods (formerly of Danity Kane) showed up. Cool! Enjoy the picks ya’ll….
